Joshua D. Owen

Since January 2021, Dr. Joshua D. Owen has been pastor of Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church (PCA) of Port Orange, FL. Dr. Owen originally hails from Baltimore, MD. Since his call to the ministry in 1995, he has served churches in North Carolina and Kentucky. After completing his MDiv at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC (2002), he earned his PhD in New Testament Literature at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY (2008). Dr. Owen especially enjoys New Testament studies, the history of biblical interpretation in the pre-critical era, and drinking deeply at the well of Puritan theologian John Owen, whom he affectionately refers to as Uncle John. Dr. Owen prefers for his church family to call him Pastor Owen or, simply, Josh. He’s especially fond of the moniker Dad, from his three children and son-in-law, and any term of endearment from his wife. Above all, he is delighted to be called a child of God through the grace of Jesus Christ.
